Computer Science

In Summer '09, I am working with Dr. Jonathan Aldrich at the Carnegie Mellon University as a Research Intern. I am working on translating SASyLF from Java to Twelf/LF.
In Summer '08, I worked with Dr. Stephanie Weirich at the University of Pennsylvania through the CRA-W/DMP program. I researched dependently typed languages and their properties through the analysis of binary search tree algorithms.
My research projects include Image Recognition. For the past year, I have been working with Dr. Antonio Sanchez on Face Detection using ALISA and the Generalized Hough Transform. This semester I have been working on integrating my face detection algorithm with JavALISA.

Math & Science

I started my undergraduate career as a Computer Science major, but I declared my second major, Math, second semester freshman year. I plan to use my Math major in conjunction with my Computer Science major.
I love Linear Algebra; it is my favorite math in all the math classes I have taken. I also enjoy other sciences like Physics and Astronomy. I audited Physics III (Quantum Physics) my sophomore year. Other classes I have audited include Operations Research and Complex Analysis. I would like to concentrate on a thesis in graduate school which combines what I love about Computer Science and Math.

Miscellaneous

I love nature! I love birds and butterflies. During the summer of 2007, I visited the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore where I enjoyed the immense variety of birds in the facility. I also visited the Butterfly at Sentosa where I took a 100+ pictures of the butterflies.
I am an avid stamp collector. I have been accumulating stamps since I was 5, and I have a collection that is growing very rapidly. I worked at the International Admissions office at TCU, and I am constantly updating my collection with stamps from all over the world.
